Established in 1951, Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden is situated in the outer periphery of Kankaria Lake and spread over an area of 31 acres.

More than 17 lakh visitors came visiting last year, and this number is only growing.

Within its confines it houses some of the rare species in the animal and the bird kingdom.

What sets it apart from other Zoological gardens is the personal touch by the devoted zoo
staff under the able guidance of the superintendent and continued support of the
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation making it a home away from the home for its residents.

The Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden was started with the purpose. To take the visitors beyond the realms of fantasy. To enable them to get a close feel of the birds, reptiles and the animals.

The zoo aims at not only conservation, name of the Zoo is Corner Education & Research of endangered species, but also breeding them in captivity, so as to save them from extinction keeping the generation of the day after in mind.

November to February
9 am to 5.30 pm

Rs. 5/- Child
Rs. 3/- Educational Tour
(On Thursday educational tour is free)

Every Friday the Zoo is closed for visitors.
